Rutgers University Commencements Will Include Speeches from Superbowl Champions, Government officials, CEOs and Political Commentators.

Starting on Sunday, May 19, 2019, all Rutgers University campuses will graduate the class of 2019. These commencements at Rutgers- New Brunswick, Rutgers- Newark and Rutgers- Camden will include speeches from established individuals from all different realms of professional successes.

Earlier this year Rutgers-New Brunswick announced that they will be welcoming Superbowl LII champions, and Rutgers-New Brunswick graduates, Devon and Jason McCourty. The National Football League’s star defensive twin brothers will be speaking in the HighPoint Stadium at Rutgers–New Brunswick on the Busch Campus in Piscataway, NJ. In addition, The university is also honored to bestow an honorary doctor of laws degree upon New Jersey Governor Philip Murphy.

Rutgers University–Camden will hold graduation ceremonies on Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden.

Rutgers University- Camden is happy to announce that their guest speakers will include Dr. Ernest Grant, President of the American Nurses Association, Dr. Wendy Osefo assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University and a national political commentator and Dr. Patrick Harker CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Each commencement speaker will speak at either the commencement for the Graduate School, the College of Arts and Sciences or the School of Nursing respectively.

Rutgers University- Newark plans to honor the life of Rutgers Graduate Paul Robeson on the 100 year anniversary of his graduation. Once an icon that was scorned and dismissed can now be appreciated for his work as a athlete, actor, singer, scholar, movie star and political activist.

“Opinions change over time,” said Angus Kress Gillespie, a professor in the Department of American Studies at the University said. “There has been a shift in perspective.”

The 2019 Rutgers University- Newark Commencement ceremony will take place in the Prudential Center on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. All prospective graduates must complete a Graduation Application in order to be eligible for graduation.

Ticket information is provided by each respective campuses commencement website. Each Student will receive as many tickets as he or she may need. Parking passes are also available on each campuses website with few restrictions.
